Financial Services, Speaker and Coach

Last week’s MMJS addressed the LACK of ROI for the British Athletes from the $38 billion or so spent on the Games of the XXX Olympiad. As a result of an article in USA Today, it was strongly suggested that the medal count for British athletes was not well served by the money spent. After a week, that prediction was TOTALLY wrong:

The British had their best games EVER.

With 29 gold medals and 65 medals overall, the British enjoyed their best Olympic showing in more than a century.

LESSONS (RE)LEARNED BY YOURS TRULY:

  1. Don’t predict. We are not in the crystal ball business.
  2. The stories of the athletes are the REAL news. It’s about purpose, training, and HARD WORK.
  3. The USA is still able to produce the best results in the world.

Well done by my British cousins. You did it splendidly in every respect. And to the USA Olympians, you made us proud! More on the lessons learned for us in business next week. Until then, do what the Olympians do…
